Top seed Caroline Wozniacki cruised into the quarter-finals of the Malaysian Open with a straight-sets victory over Zhu Lin on Thursday.

The world number five booked her third last eight appearance in as many tournaments with a comfortable 6-4 6-1 win in Kuala Lumpur.

Wozniacki was particularly dominant on serve, hitting seven aces and not giving Zhu a single chance to break.

Early proceedings were tight with nine holds of serve, but Wozniacki converted her third break point of the set in game 10 to move ahead.

The Dane followed that with five successive games at the start of the second, and wrapped up victory in 75 minutes after wasting four match points.

Wozniacki will face Carina Witthoft in the next round after she sent fifth seed Klara Koukalova crashing out with a surprise 7-6 (7-3) 6-0 win.

Hsieh Su-wei sealed the last quarter-final spot, where she will meet Elizaveta Kulichkova, by beating Misa Eguchi 6-3 3-6 6-0.
