Top seed Caroline Wozniacki sailed into the Malaysian Open semi-finals with a 6-3 6-1 victory over Carina Witthoft on Friday.

Wozniacki has breezed through three rounds at the WTA International event and is yet to drop a set in Kuala Lumpur, having won each of her matches so far in convincing fashion.

After sharing the opening two games, Wozniacki ran world number 81 Witthoft close in the third, but failed to convert two break points.

The Dane edged ahead 3-2 in the fifth and found a second break to make sure of the set.

A winning streak of five games saw Wozniacki race into a 3-0 lead in the second set and, after surviving two break points at 5-1 up, she converted match point at the first time of asking.

Wozniacki will now meet wildcard Hsieh Su-wei, with the 2012 champion having seen off qualifier Elizaveta Kulichkova 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 6-0.

A tight first set saw both players drop three service games before Hsieh edged the tie-breaker, but Kulichkova pulled herself back into the match by outnumbering her opponent by two breaks to one in the second.

That joy was short-lived, however, as Hsieh won to love in all bar one of the games in a one-sided third set.

Fourth seed Jarmila Gajdosova is also into the last four after a 6-4 3-6 6-4 victory over Kurumi Nara.

She will now meet Alexandra Dulgheru - a 7-6 (7-5) 7-5 victor over eighth seed Julia Gorges.
