Sportingbet’s analysts failed to award Josh Kennedy ($3.75) and Scott Pendlebury ($4.25) any votes in Round 18, meaning Selwood is just two votes behind Kennedy and only one vote behind Pendlebury in Sportingbet’s running Brownlow Medal vote tally.
Gary Ablett ($5) still maintains a five-vote lead over Kennedy.
"Punters have actually stepped back in and backed Ablett after the weekend, believing his hopes of holding on have improved," Sportingbet’s Andrew Brown said.
"Most of the recent cash has swung Selwood’s way though as the Cats captain continues his late-season charge."
Sportingbet’s analysts award half votes when they can’t split certain player performances, a system that has proven to balance out over the course of the season and provide a more accurate prediction of a player’s final vote numbers.
