Van Uytvanck won the WTA 125K series event last year, upstaging Belgian compatriot Yanina Wickmayer 6-4 6-2 in the final in Taipei.

But the 20-year-old will not return to Taiwan, with her eyes firmly set on the ITF Al Habtoor Tennis Challenge, which begins on November 10 in Dubai.

In her absence, German world number 76 Anna-Lena Friedsam has been given the top seeding for the tournament played on indoor carpet courts.

Friedsam, who reached the round of 16 in 2013, made the semi-finals at the Generali Ladies Linz earlier in October before bowing out in the first round in Luxembourg.

Thailand's Luksika Kumkhum and Chinese Zheng Saisai are seeded second and third respectively.

Highly rated Romanian Sorana Cirstea is the fourth seed.

The 2009 French Open quarter-finalist has struggled to make a significant impact on the WTA Tour this season, failing to make it past the last eight in Pattaya City, Dubai and Tianjin in October.

Russian Alla Kudryavtseva (five), China's Wang Qiang (six), Japanese Kimiko Date-Krumm (seven) and Austrian Patricia Mayr-Achleitner (eight) are the other seeds.

Local trio Chan Yung-jan, Chan Hao-ching and Chang Kai-chen - the latter runner-up in 2012 - have received wildcards into the main draw.
