The German, a finalist at SW19 in 2013, surpassed Czech Karolina Pliskova 6-3 7-5 to book a last-32 clash with 11th seed Ana Ivanovic on Saturday.

Lisicki, the 19th seed, improved to a 21-5 win-loss record at the grass-court major, but she said she was not thinking of going one better than her runner-up finish behind Marion Bartoli from 12 months ago.

"To be honest I don't think about it," the 24-year-old said, when asked about the Wimbledon title.

"It's in the back of my mind that I've always done so well here. In the previous five years I've always played great tennis here.

"It gives you confidence and also to have so much support from the crowd is amazing."

Pliskova was somewhat of a measuring stick for Lisicki to use in her return from a shoulder injury earlier in 2014, as the German took three sets to surpass the rising Czech.

Lisicki said their previous meeting, on clay in Madrid, saw her continue to battle her injury, and she was pleased to move freely in their one-hour, 19-minute encounter in London.

"In Madrid I still had problems with my injury so I was struggling a little bit there," Lisicki said.

"But I'm feeling much better here. I was ready for it.

"I know she (Pliskova) can hit very good serves, so I needed to be ready."
