Serena Williams rallies to defeat Victoria Azarenka at French Open

Serena Williams produced a recovery on Saturday to avoid a third-round exit at the hands of Victoria Azarenka.

Madison Keys of the United States won't be joining; she lost her match at Roland Garros.

Williams won her eight previous matches against Azarenka, of Belarus, but her streak was in jeopardy on Court Philippe Chatrier. Azarenka led by a set and a break in the second set.

However, Williams showed gritty determination to win 3-6, 6-4, 6-2. She will now take on fellow American Sloane Stephens in the fourth round.
