Serbia have clinched their first Davis Cup title beating France 3-2 after Novak Djokovic and Viktor Troicki eased to victories on Sunday.

Djokovic breezed past Gael Monfils 6-2 6-2 6-4 in the fourth rubber at the Belgrade Arena, levelling the tie at 2-2 and setting up a fifth and deciding clash between Troicki and Michael Llodra.

Troicki prevailed with ease, defeating the Frenchman 6-2 6-2 6-3 to clinch the Cup.

France had entered the day up 2-1 and looking to wrap up their 10th title after Llodra and Arnaud Clement defeated Troicki and Nenad Zimonjic in the doubles final on Saturday.

But Djokovic had other ideas, rocketing to a two-set lead over Monfils and holding steady through the third set to claim victory in the first reverse singles match.

The world number three twice fell a break behind, but rallied on both occasions to close out the match in straight sets.

Janko Tipsarevic was scheduled to play Gilles Simon in the final rubber, but both captains made late changes following Troicki and Llodra's impressive showings in the doubles.

Troicki took a one-set lead without conceding his serve and pocketed the second with three successive breaks.

The world number 30 then sparked wild celebrations when he blasted a cross-court backhand past Llodra to clinch the third set, sealing a famous victory for Serbia.
