Reg's plea for acceptance came in the middle of a series of speeches as Ray's life story – titled The Voice and written by leading journalist Andrew Webster – was officially launched at the SCG on Wednesday.
After Gus Gould, Channel 9 boss David Gyngell and station star Karl Stefanovic had their say on stage, Reg stole the show with his impromptu demand for recognition.
Sounding eerily like his more famous sibling, Reg outlined his torment and fight for acknowledgment ever since Ray left Junee to begin a stellar career in sports broadcasting.
