The tournament at the Devonshire Park Lawn Tennis Club is due to be completed on Sunday ahead of the start of Wimbledon on Monday, meaning the men's and women's semi-finals and finals must all take place on the same day.
In the men's draw, Igor Kunitsyn of Russia plays Italian Andreas Seppi.
The winner will play either Kei Nishikori of Japan or third seed Serb Janko Tipsarevic, who is the only seeded player remaining in the men's singles.
In the women's competition, fifth-seeded Czech Petra Kvitova takes on Slovak Daniela Hantuchova.
Awaiting the winner will be either seventh-seeded Australian Samantha Stosur or sixth seed Marion Bartoli of France.
