Rain disrupts Saturday at Wimbledon

After a 90-minute delay in the morning, players were eventually able to get on court, but further showers saw any play cut short.

Serena Williams and Alize Cornet only contested two games of their match of Court One, while the ever-improving Eugenie Bouchard was forced to leave court three when 2-1 ahead after just 15 minutes.

Her fellow Canadian Milos Raonic led 3-2 against Lukasz Kubot and Jiri Vesely converted an early break in his match with Nick Kyrgios to lead 4-2.

Delays could see some players forced to come back on Monday if the rain persists, meaning a busy second week for those victorious.

Thanks to its roof, Centre Court was unaffected, but Rafael Nadal, who was first on the main show court, may have wished that had not been the case.

The second seed lost the opening set for a third consecutive match at this year's tournament, as Mikhail Kukushkin's spirited display gave him an early advantage.

As in previous rounds, Nadal fought back and levelled the match thanks to two breaks in the second set.
