Mental toughness – David Tyrell

The South Sydney forward was cut in half by a massive Steve Matai hit on Friday but was able to have a laugh about it. Although it probably hurt his ribs at the time. Matai actually apologised for blindsiding Tyrrell after the game.

Skill – Lleyton Hewitt

The Aussie champion bowed out of Wimbledon in the first round after a typically gutsy five-set thriller against Jarrko Nieminen. The 34-year-old is a veteran of 17 Wimbledons and won the tournament back in 2002 but won’t be back again.

Strength – David Klemmer

After a pretty tumultuous week in which Gorden Tallis said he’d want to punch him, Klemmer was at his rampaging best against the Storm at Belmore on Monday night. The big forward made three tackle breaks, ran for 197m, and made 22 tackles. Watch out Queensland in Game 3!

Endurance – Richmond

Trailing by 33-points in the third term, the Tigers, spearheaded by Jack Riewoldt, stormed back to claim a 95-77 win. The away win was Richmond’s fifth victory in six games, continuing their great form on the road and seeing them jump up to sixth spot on the ladder.
