Peng will make her first appearance on the WTA Tour since reaching the Wimbledon fourth round in July, losing to eventual champion Petra Kvitova in the last 16.

The third-ranked Chinese is favourite to take out the 125K series event on home soil, given the only other top-100 players set to appear are China's Zheng Jie (60th) and Japan's Misaki Doi (85th).

Zheng has endured a lean season, however she reached her first final in 2014 in the recent grass-court season at 's-Hertogenbosch - which she lost to Coco Vandeweghe.

Doi won an ITF-level tournament in Seoul in April on hard courts - the same surface to be played on this week - but only encountered one top-180 player on her way to claiming the $50,000 event.

Luksika Kumkhum of Thailand is the fourth seed, with the world number 113 barely making an impact at tour-level since her stunning upset over Kvitova at the Australian Open in January.

Rounding out the seedings are Luxembourg's Mandy Minella (five), China's Zheng Saisai (six), Japan's Ayumi Morita (seven) and Ukraine's Yuliya Beygelzimer (eight).

Top seed Peng's first hurdle will be world number 312 Han Xinyun, while Zheng Jie faces the 423rd-ranked Liu Fangzhou in another all-Chinese battle.
