Kyrgios slammed with code violation

Nick Kyrgios

The tournament’s television commentators continuously apologised for the swearing, which was picked up in the on-court effects microphone.

Kyrgios was continuously heard screaming, “F*** me,” during his loss to Benoit Paire in Tokyo.

The outbursts prompted commentator Nick Lester to interject.

“Apologies for the naughty words,” Lester said.

“It’s a shame. Just a shame from Kyrgios’ point of view that he wasn’t able to hang around in the third set and wasn’t able to stay with his man.

“He just kind of went away rather tamely.

“Let’s hope Lleyton Hewitt can install some grit because it’s required pretty urgently.”

Although Kyrgios looked promising early on in the match – claiming the first set – he eventually crumbled and went down 3-6 6-4 6-1.
