Kitzbuhel success boosts Goffin ranking

The 23-year-old clinched victory in Austria with a 4-6 6-1 6-3 win over Dominic Thiem in the final as he picked up his first career crown on the main tour. 

Having continued the fine form he showed to win three consecutive events on the Challenger Tour last month, Goffin moved to 48th in the world in Monday's latest rankings - six places off his career-best of 42nd. 

Donald Young was another to surge up the list after reaching the semi-finals of the Citi Open in Washington. 

The American fell to eventual winner Milos Raonic in the final four but climbed 23 places to 50th as Andreas Seppi slipped a place to 51st.

With the top five unchanged, the two biggest losers were Pablo Carreno Busta and Juan Monaco.

Both dropped 14 places after falling in Kitzbuhel at the round of 32 and semi-final stages respectively.

In the WTA rankings, Angelique Kerber and Eugenie Bouchard swapped places in the top eight, while former world number one Ana Ivanovic moved up a spot to 10th. 

Victoria Azarenka makes way after defeat to Venus Williams in the round of 16 at the Bank of the West Classic event, with Varvara Lepchenko's earned a 13-place jump to 46th after making the semi-finals in Stanford.
