Former world No.1 Ana Ivanovic will finalise her preparations for the Australian Open by competing in the Sydney International in January.
The Serbian glamour girl joins a star-studded line-up that already includes US Open champion Kim Clijsters and Australia's world No.6 Sam Stosur.
Ivanovic last played in Sydney in 2008 where she reached the semi-finals.
"I'm very excited to be returning to Sydney for the Medibank International; it is one of my favourite cities to visit and I can't wait to play there in January," Ivanovic said.
"I have had some good results there in the past, when I reached the semi-finals in 2008. Hopefully I can go on and win the title in 2011."
"The matches there in Sydney are incredibly tough because the women's draw is always excellent so I am looking forward to some good preparation before the Australian Open."
The 23-year-old is currently ranked 17th in the world on the back of a strong finish to the year that included wins in Linz and the season-ending Tournament of Champions in Bali.
The Sydney International will be held at Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre from Sunday 9 to Saturday 15 January 2011.
