I deserve World Tour final place - Murray

Murray has won three of the five events he has entered since the US Open, claiming titles in Shenzhen, Vienna and Valencia.

His improved form has put him within touching distance of securing a finals berth, which will be confirmed should he defeat Grigor Dimitrov to reach the quarter-finals of this week's Paris Masters.

After beating Julien Benneteau in straight sets on Wednesday, Murray highlighted his consistency throughout the year.

"I put in a lot of hard work the last few weeks," said the 27-year-old. "A lot of tough, long matches and if I get into London I deserve to be there because it's your results across the year

"And my results in most of the tournaments, most of the big tournaments this year, have been good enough to be in the top eight.

"In all of the slams I've reached at least the quarter-finals, so only four guys - in the French Open's case, two guys, did better than me - and four in the other slams, so I've won more matches than most players in the slams.

"Maybe one or two other guys have won more, and then across the rest of the year, I think I've won the second most amount of matches on the regular tour, so if I get there, I think I deserve to be there."
