The Spaniard, seeded fourth for the tournament, needed one hour and 15 minutes to complete a 6-1 6-4 semi-final triumph over the Argentinian at the ATP 250 clay-court event in Casablanca.

Granollers, whose last ATP title came at the 2013 Austria Open Kitzbuhel last August, converted five of his seven break-point opportunities as Delbonis was brushed aside.

And Granollers, who was able to mark the occasion of his 28th birthday with a win, is now looking forward to an all-Spanish final against Guillermo Garcia-Lopez.

"I started the match very well, but Federico came back strongly in the second set and I was leading 4-2 before he broke back," he said.

"I'm happy that I managed to win in two sets and I'm looking forward to a Spanish final tomorrow."

Awaiting Grannolers in the showdown is compatriot Garcia-Lopez, who finally ended the plucky run of Spanish qualifier Roberto Carballes Baena in a marathon match lasting two hours and 47 minutes.

Carballes Baena had never previously won a Tour-level match before this week, and his semi-final against the eighth seed proved to be a step too far, as Garcia-Lopez triumphed 6-2 6-7 (6-8) 6-4.
