Guillermo Garcia-Lopez secured his second title of 2015 with a hard-fought victory over Jiri Vesely at the Nastase Tiriac Trophy on Sunday.

The Spaniard – who won in Zagreb in February – needed two tie-breaks before his celebrations could begin, the world number 45 eventually winning 7-6 (7-5) 7-6 (13-11) in over two hours on court.

In the pair's first meeting on tour, it was Garcia-Lopez who settled the better as he opened up with three successive games, however he threw a 4-1 lead away.

Vesely's battling qualities shone through as he fought back to create two set points for himself, he failed to convert them, though,  and Garcia-Lopez eventually forced a tie-break.

In the breaker it was Vesely's turn to crumble as he allowed his opponent to win four straight points to move ahead.

A tight opening set was followed by a carbon-copy in the second, both men picking up a break but unable to make further inroads as they entered another shootout.

Garcia-Lopez passed on five match points before he eventually sealed victory, the fifth seed having to wait until the 24th point before finally collecting a fifth tournament win of his career.
