France came back from two sets down to beat Serbia in the Davis Cup doubles final in Belgrade on Saturday.

Nenad Zimonjic and Viktor Troicki looked to be sending France to a swift defeat after winning a dramatic second-set tie-break to go 6-3 7-6 up at the Belgrade Arena.

But Michael Llodra and an inspired Arnaud Clement - who recovered well from costly service errors in the first set - staged a remarkable fightback, saving two break points to claim the third set 6-4.

Clement then broke serve with an audacious lob on the run, before Llodra held serve to edge the fourth set 7-5.

Zimonjic missed an easy backhand shot to pass up two break point opportunities that would have dragged Serbia level at 4-4 in the decider.

Llodra promptly served out the remaining game to seal a marathon 3-6 6-7 6-4 7-5 6-3 comeback victory in four hours and 19 minutes.

France now hold a 2-1 lead, meaning Gilles Simon can secure victory with a win over Novak Djokovic in the first of two reverse singles matches on Sunday.
