Roger Federer set up a dream finale with Rafael Nadal at the ATP World Tour Finals after cruising past Novak Djokovic 6-1 6-4.

Nadal earlier overcame Scotland's Andy Murray in an epic thriller 7-6 (7-5) 3-6 7-6 (8-6).

Federer's form has been imperious so far at London's O2 Arena, where he is yet to drop a set against top-quality opponents in David Ferrer, Murray, Robin Soderling and now his US Open semi-final conqueror Djokovic.

The 16-time Grand Slam champion is bidding to equal the record shared by former world number ones Pete Sampras and Ivan Lendl by winning his fifth ATP World Tour Finals trophy after previous successes in 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007.

Djokovic, the world number three, struggled to get into the match against a rampant Federer, who broke the Serb twice in wrapping up the opening set in just 31 minutes.

Djokovic started far better in the second, however, and a break of serve had him up 3-0 before the Swiss ace stormed back to level the set at 3-3.

Djokovic showed his fighting qualities in the next game, rallying to hold serve after being down 0-40, but Federer had his measure and took the second set 6-4 to set up a highly-anticipated showdown with Spain's Nadal.

Federer said he was looking forward to the match given his impressive form so far in London.

"It seems like it's working this week - I played well against a player who's had a great season," Federer said.

"I'm really enjoying myself and I hope I can produce something good tomorrow. Rafa showed today why he is the best player in the world at the moment and it should be a good match."

"We haven't played that much recently but I'm looking forward to playing him. Our styles match up well and he's always very respectful, which I appreciate."

"We've had some epics and some matches that didn't quite live up to expectations. Hopefully tomorrow will be a great match."
