Djokovic delighted with solid form

The top seed won through 6-3 6-2 6-2, and has not been pushed further than 6-4 in a set so far at Flushing Meadows in an ominous run of form.

Djokovic, though, came into the year's final major with sketchy results, having bowed out in the last-16 at Masters events in Toronto and Cincinnati.

The Serbian said he had found a comfortable range so far in New York.

"Just more solid in every shot, I believe," said Djokovic, when asked what he felt is clicking in his game.

"Using serve efficiently, not going for power and speed as much as for accuracy and precision, allowing myself to have an easier first shot.

"Just moving better, returning more balls in the court. Overall very, very solid game."

Much has been made of Djokovic's form slump since winning Wimbledon, but the 27-year-old said he is at peace with his recent life changes - having married shortly after his SW19 success, with wife Jelena expecting their first child.

"I feel just as a more fulfilled person in general. I'm so happy and very grateful for the life that I have," the five-time major winner said.

"So knowing in back of my mind that, you know, now my wife is pregnant and I'm going to become a father, all these things just can give me very positive influence and joy in my life.

"There's nothing negative and there is no fear or any kind of similar emotion that can, you know, get to me.

"Obviously as a professional athlete, as a competitor on the court, you go through different phases of emotions.

"But generally, you know, I have so much experience and I love competing. I love being out there. I wouldn't be here if I don't have the passion for this sport."

Djokovic will take on German 22nd seed Philipp Kohlschreiber in the fourth round, after he ousted John Isner for the third straight year in the round-of-32.
