Christos Kyrgios was booted off an interview with Sydney radio station Triple M last wake after making a crude remark about WTA player Donna Vekic.

The tasteless comment, which followed Nick’s on-court jibe to Stan Wawrinka that ‘(Thanasi Kokkinakis banged your girlfriend (Vekic), did not go to air but Christos later boasted of his behaviour on Facebook.

Poor-old Christos should probably have saved his cash as Nick, who was booed by sections of the Cincinnati crowd, surrendered to Richard Gasquet 6-2 6-1 in just 56 minutes.

Nick, who was fined for his outburst in Montreal last week and remains under investigation by the ATP, was plagued by a lower back complaint throughout and looked rattled from the moment he was booed onto the court.

The 20-year-old repeatedly grimaced and felt for his lower back from the opening game and received treatment from a trainer after the fifth game of the first set.

It appeared to free his movement but nothing could save the controversial Australian from 12th seed Gasquet.

The Frenchman took the first set in 29 minutes on the back of 18 unforced errors from Kyrgios.

It was even easier for Gasquet in the second set as the weight of last week’s controversy appeared to catch up with the world number 37.

Kyrgios' defeat denies tennis fans a mouth-watering second-round clash with Kokkinakis, who was openly critical of his good mate's comments to Wawrinka.

The 19-year-old Aussie will instead face Gasquet on Thursday (AEST).
