A tight opening set saw Sock save three break points before turning the tables on Dimitrov to take the 11th game, and go onto to win the set.

The American had the momentum at the start of the second too, but failed to capitalise as Dimitrov saved two break points before breaking in the final game.

The Bulgarian second seed was slowly finding his rhythm from the back of the court and, when three break chances came his way on Sock's serve, he levelled the match at the first time of asking.

Sock was not giving up, though, and the deciding set remained close until the eighth game, when Dimitrov broke his opponent before serving out to love to secure the match.

He will meet Bernard Tomic in the last four after the Australian also came from a set down to beat seventh seed Fernando Verdasco 0-6 6-4 7-6 (8-6).

Tomic only won 11 points in the opening set as Verdasco dominated proceedings, but the 21-year-old ralled and hit back to level matters in the second.

Nothing could separate the pair in the decider until the tie-break, when Tomic found some momentum to win the first four points on his way to a dramatic comeback.

Top seed Tomas Berdych had few issues in dispatching Romania's Marius Copil 6-2 6-2, and he will meet Matthias Bachinger in the last four after the German became the third player of the day to recover from losing the first set to progress.

The qualifier served 13 aces on his way to a 4-6 6-1 6-4 win over Adrian Mannarino, reaching only the second semi-final of his career.
