Eugenie Bouchard appeared to confirm on Friday that she has hired Sam Sumyk as her new coach.

The world number seven was reported to have hired French coach Sumyk, having cut ties with Nick Saviano - the American mentor who she worked with since age 12.

Now 20 and a Wimbledon finalist, Bouchard has hired Sumyk - an ex-coach of two-time major winner Victoria Azarenka and former world number two Vera Zvonareva - and confirmed the advancement via Instagram.

Bouchard reached the Australian Open quarter-finals in January, losing to eventual finalist Maria Sharapova.

The Canadian number one's first tournament under Sumyk's tutelage will be the Fortis Diamond Games in Antwerp, Belgium - the first time the event will be held since 2008.
