The Czech third seed cruised to victory in just one hour and 17 minutes in Rotterdam, ending a 16-month wait for a tournament win in the process, having not sealed silverware since triumph at the Stockholm Open in October 2012.

Berdych broke Cilic in the third game of the first set, finally taking advantage of his third available break point when his opponent sent a back-hand into the net.

He comfortably held his serve throughout the remainder of the set to go in front, before carrying his momentum into the beginning of the second set.

Berdych broke in the very first game when Cilic sent the ball long, and continued his dominance throughout the remainder of the set, breaking the Croat once more in the seventh match for a 5-2 advantage.

The Czech then held to love to seal a comfortable victory and clinch the $330,750 prize money.

As a result of the victory, Berdych will also rise a place to number six in the world rankings.
