Bautista Agut into top 20, Petkovic rises

Rewarded for winning the MercedesCup, Bautista Agut jumped five places to 18th in the world in the rankings released on Monday.

The 26-year-old Spaniard overcame Czech Lukas Rosol in the final on the clay in Stuttgart.

With most of the world's best having a break after Wimbledon, there was no change to the top 17 in the men's rankings.

Australian Hewitt was rewarded for his Hall of Fame Tennis Championships victory by moving up two spots to 41.

Russian Mikhail Youzhny, a semi-finalist in Stuttgart, is back in the top 20 in 19th.

Dropping out of the top 20 were Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov (21) and Croatian Marin Cilic (22).

Portugal's Joao Sousa was runner-up at the Swedish Open to rise to 35th in the world, while his conqueror Uruguayan Pablo Cuevas jumped 50 places to 61st.

The biggest slider in the top 100 was Frenchman Nicolas Mahut, who failed to defend his Newport title and slipped 28 places to 87th.

In the WTA rankings, the top 17 remained unchanged.

German Andrea Petkovic (up two places to 18th) was rewarded for her Nurnberger Gastein Ladies title win.

Kaia Kanepi (up 12 to 54) rose after winning an ITF event in Biarritz, while Brazilian Teliana Pereira is 88th after losing to the Estonian in the final.
