Veteran Lleyton Hewitt and Chris Guccione wrapped up the tie, winning their doubles matchup 6-3 7-6 6-2 against world no.55 Denis Istomin and Farrukh Dustov.
The Aussie duo was on top from the outset as they raced to a 3-0 lead in the first set before closing it out 6-3.
A chance was missed by the Uzbeks in the second set as they took it a tiebreaker but were unable to match the class of Hewitt as a stunning return gave the Australian's a two-set-to-love lead.
Two breaks in the third set saw Hewitt and Guccione canter to victory as they secured Australia's status in tennis' premier team competition.
Australia had secured momentum in the tie on Friday with singles victories to young gun Nick Kyrgios and Hewitt.
Kyrgios battled injury to overcome Istomin 64 7-5 6-4 while Hewitt had no trouble dispatching Dustov 6-4 6-4 6-2.
The draw for the 2015 World Group is held on September 18.
