The Russian missed out on a place in the quarter-finals as a result of a 6-2 6-4 defeat against the world number 145 on Thursday.

Top seed Luksika Kumkhum crashed out in the first round on Monday courtesy of a shock defeat against Duan Ying-ying, and Kudryavtseva's hopes of winning the hard-court event were ended two days later.

Home hope Lin won half of the eight break points she earned and only failed to hold serve once to account for an opponent ranked 48 places higher than her.

Lin will face compatriot Wang Qiang in the last eight, while two other Chinese players progressed to the quarter-finals on Thursday.

Second seed Zheng Saisa accounted for Hsieh Su-Wei with a 6-4 6-4 second-round victory.

Both players fashioned six break points, but it was Zheng who advanced after taking four of those opportunities as her opponent from Chinese Taipei broke just twice.

Zheng will come up against Magda Linette in the quarter-finals after the Pole was a 6-1 6-4 winner against wildcard Xu Yi-Fan.

Duan Ying-Ying was the third Chinese player to move into the last eight on Thursday, as she fought back to see off Russian Elizaveta Kulichkova 5-7 6-3 7-5.

Ekaterina Bychkova stands in the way of Duan and a place in the semi-finals.
