World number four Halep lost her final Red Group match to Ana Ivanovic on Friday, but she responded in style against Radwanska.

In a twist of fate, it was Halep who ensured Williams could progress to the last four when she took a set off Ivanovic and she will now take on the world number one and two-time defending champion in the final in Singapore on Sunday.

Radwanska had no answer to the Romanian's wide array of attacking shots and 26 winners helped Halep wrap up victory in little only an hour.

She will now try and prevent Williams, who defeated Caroline Wozniacki in Saturday's other semi-final, from clinching a third straight WTA Finals title and can take confidence from a comprehensive 6-2 6-0 victory over the world number one in the group stages.

Halep began on the front foot, as a break in game three earned her an early 2-1 advantage in the opening set.

The Romanian saved a break point in the next before consolidating her lead and moving into a position of control by taking the next game on Radwanska's serve.

After comfortably seeing out the set, Halep carried her momentum into the second, where two breaks of serve handed her a 3-0 lead.

Radwanska did respond to claw a game back, but Halep returned the favour to restore her significant lead.

After holding to love to move 5-1 ahead, Halep earned herself two match points in game eight, and took advantage of the first with a controlled overhead smash to set up a final date with Williams.
