Caroline Wozniacki strolled into the third round of the US Open with a comprehensive 6-0 6-0 victory over Chang Kai-Chen on Thursday.
No.1 seed Wozniacki dismissed her Taiwanese opponent in less than an hour, with the whitewash further cementing the in-form Dane's status as the favourite to win the year's last Grand Slam.
It was an impressive performance by the 20-year-old, who recorded her 11th straight win following back-to-back titles in Montreal and New Haven.
Also through to the third round in early play Thursday was American Beatrice Capra, who sprung a surprise to defeat No.18 seed Aravane Rezai 7-5 2-6 6-3.
Ranked 371st in the world, 18-year-old Capra drew 49 unforced errors from Frenchwoman Rezai to battle her way to an unlikely third-round berth.
Wimbledon finalist Vera Zvonareva made hard work of Germany's Sabine Lisicki, struggling to a 6-1 7-6 (7-5) victory that was littered with unforced errors on both sides.
World No.8 Zvonareva slipped to 4-5 down in the second set before rallying to break Lisicki and win the tie-breaker.
In other second round matches, Switzerland's Patty Schnyder defeated Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez of Spain 7-6 (7-2) 6-4, while Chan Yung-Jan of Taiwan dispatched Austrian Tamira Paszek 6-3 6-3.
No.15 seed Yanina Wickmayer of Belgium overcame Germany's Julia Goerges 6-4 7-5.
Dominika Cibulkova will join her in the third round after the Slovakian defeated Kateryna Bondarenko of Ukraine 6-2 5-7 7-6 (9-7).
