Top seed Juan Monaco recovered from a second-set stumble to beat Carlos Berlocq in the final of the VTR Open in Chile on Sunday.
Monaco, the world No.29, took the first set 6-3 but Berlocq hit back in a tight second set, which was eventually decided in a tie-breaker.
Berlocq dominated the tie-breaker, winning it 7-1, which put the seventh seed in a good position to push for the title, but Monaco recovered and easily closed out the match 6-1 in the final set to win his fourth career title.
Berlocq fell apart in the deciding set, winning won just 45 percent of his points on serve and failing to capitalise on any of his seven break-point opportunities.
Monaco's victory over his fellow Argentine made him the first player from his country to win at Vina del Mar since Jose Acasuso in 2006.
It was his fourth career title, and his first since 2007.
