Ferrer cruises in Argentina

David Ferrer booked his spot in the quarter-finals of the Copa Claro event in Buenos Aires with ease on Wednesday.

The top seed cruised past Argentine Facundo Bagnis 6-3 6-4 in just 77 minutes.

Ferrer won an impressive 81 percent of points on his first serve and made four breaks in his triumph.

Japan's Kei Nishikori had to work harder to secure his progression, with the fourth seed eventually proving too good for the stubborn Victor Hanescu of Romania, 3-6 7-5 6-1.

Switzerland's Stanislas Wawrinka needed three sets as well, fighting hard to defeat Frenchman Benoit Paire 6-3 5-7 6-2.Wawrinka made five breaks in his 104-minute victory.
