Davydenko breezes through

Top seed Nikolay Davydenko strode through to the quarter-finals of the Studena Croatia Open in Umag with a 6-1 6-2 victory over Frenchman Stephane Robert.
Davydenko, who has been blighted by poor form since his comeback from a serious wrist injury, needed just 53 minutes to seal his place in the last eight.
Former world number one and fourth seed Juan Carlos Ferrero came from a set down to defeat Uruguay's Pablo Cuevas 4-6 6-4 6-4.
And there were also wins for sixth-seeded Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov, who beat Croatian wild card Franco Skugor 7-6 (7-1) 6-3, and Argentina's Juan Ignacio Chela who beat qualifier Simone Bolelli 7-6 (7-5) 6-7 (4-7) 6-1.
In the Suisse Open in Gstaad, former champion Richard Gasquet came from behind to advance to the quarter-finals with a 6-7 (7-5) 6-3 6-0 win over Germany's Daniel Brands.
The French seventh seed was joined in the last eight by in-form Spaniard Albert Montanes. The fourth seed, fresh from title wins in Estoril and Munich, beat Austrian qualifier Andreas Haider-Maurer 3-6 6-1 6-0.
In the third and final second round tie played on Wednesday, another Spaniard, Daniel Gimeno-Traver, had few difficulties disposing of last year's beaten finalist, Germany's Andreas Beck, 7-5 6-4.
