Up and coming youngster Bernard Tomic wants his third round match-up at the Australian Open on Friday to be played in a primetime slot under the lights on Rod Laver Arena.
Tomic booked his passage into the final 32 of the year's first major with a four-set triumph over American Sam Querrey on Wednesday and now faces a tricky clash against No.13 seed Alexandr Dolgopolov in the next round.
The Australian's quest to make the round of 16 at his home Grand Slam won't be easy though, as he has a dreadful head-to-head record against the ungainly Dolgopolov.
The duo have met three times in the past two years, with the 23-year-old from Ukraine having won on all three occasions.
But Tomic is not fussed by this fact and believes he will be able to reverse the trend and setup a possible fourth round clash against Roger Federer if he gets his preferred timeslot.
"I think he doesn't like my game and I don't like his," Tomic said of his next opponent.
"He's very unco and very weird to play and I'm sure a lot of players say the same thing about him."
"I'd prefer (to play at) night with the slower conditions against him."
Tomic and Dolgopolov have endured difficult paths just reaching the third round, with the duo having already played a combined 19 sets between them.
Dolgopolov was on court for three hours and 18 minutes in his five-set victory over Tobias Kamke in the second round, while his clash against Australian Greg Jones on the opening day of the tournament also went the distance.
Tomic has also had a tough time reaching the final 32, but the 19-year-old is happy with the way he is currently playing.
"I was happy to win that first round. Now to win the second and play well and come back from another set behind was really good," he said.
"I'm getting comfortable after three or four years of losing on that (Rod Laver Arena) court."
While Tomic is happy with his game and is looking forward to the next round, he was less than complimentary on himself for forgetting to sign up for the mixed doubles tournament at Melbourne Park.
Tomic was due to play the mixed doubles with Serbia's Jelena Jankovic, but regrettably missed the cut off time on Wednesday to enter.
"Maybe I forgot to sign in. She'll kill me for that," Tomic said.
"She told me to sign in and I didn't sign in."
"I knew I forgot something the last few weeks."
