Austria have reached the quarter-finals of the Davis Cup for the first time since 1995 after completing a 3-2 win over Russia on Sunday.
Jurgen Melzer defeated Alex Bogomolov Jr 6-2 6-4 6-1 to give Austria an unassailable 3-1 lead before Igor Kunitsyn handed Russia their second point with a 6-4 4-6 7-6 (7-4) win over Andreas Haider-Maurer in the dead reverse singles rubber.
The victory puts the Austrians into a last-eight meeting with defending champions Spain in April.
"This is awesome. We have been dreaming about this for many years," Melzer said.
"We knew we could do it when everything fits together. It's a great performance by the entire team."
Nicolas Almagro and Marcel Granollers secured a 5-0 sweep for Spain over Kazakhstan after both won their final singles rubbers.
Almagro eased passed Evgeny Korolev, while Granollers toppled Andrey Golubev 6-3 6-7 (7-2) 6-3.
Ivo Karlovic was the hero for Croatia as he edged Japan's Go Soeda in the deciding rubber 7-6 (7-4) 6-1 6-4 to set up a quarter-final showdown with four-time finalists Argentina.
Karlovic picked up his third point for the 2005 champions having defeated Kei Nishikori on Friday and paired with Ivan Dodig to win the doubles on Saturday.
The United States completed a 5-0 clean sweep of Switzerland in their tie on Sunday.
Teenager Ryan Harrison defeated Michael Lammer 7-6 (7-0) 7-6 (7-4) and John Isner, who shocked Roger Federer in four sets on Friday, won his singles match against Marco Chuidinelli 6-3 6-4 to complete the rout.
The US will meet either France or Canada in the quarter-finals in April.
The Czech Republic wrapped up their tie 4-1 despite Simone Bolelli securing Italy's lone win, over substitute Frantisek Cermak 6-4 6-4 on Sunday.
Tomas Berdych and Radek Stepanek defeated Daniele Bracciali and Potito Starace 6-3 6-4 6-2 in the doubles on Saturday after both won their singles on Friday, Stepanek overcoming Andreas Seppi in five sets and Berdych defeating Bolelli in four.
Both were rested for the reverse singles, with replacement Lukas Rosol coming from a set down to upset Seppi to give the Czech Republic a 4-0 lead.
Serbia awaits the Czech Republic in the quarter finals after they defeated Sweden 4-1.
World No.9 Janko Tipsarevic beat Michael Ryderstedt 6-2 7-6 (7-5) 7-5 to give Serbia a 4-0 lead after Sweden picked up their first point in the doubles on Saturday, and Dusan Lajovic defeated Filip Prpic 6-4 6-4 in the dead reverse rubber.
Argentina beat Germany 4-1 after taking a 4-0 lead following Juan Ignacio Chela's 7-5 7-5 win over Florian Mayer.
Cedrik-Marcel Stebe picked up Germany's lone point with a 7-6 (7-1) 7-5 victory over Eduardo Schwank in the final singles dead rubber.More to follow
