Toulon have moved to dismiss reports that they have signed Paul O'Connell from Munster.
The Ireland captain, who recently lifted the Six Nations title, has been the subject of media speculation surrounding a move to the double defending European champions.
In response to rumours that the lock had signed for the club, Toulon released a statement on Tuesday to declare that any such talk was wide of the mark.
"The Rugby Club Toulonnais wishes to clarify that Paul O'Connell has not signed a contract with the Rugby Club Toulonnais," it read.
"Alleged contacts between the player and the red and black are just pure speculation."
