The 25-year-old was found guilty of breaching the code of conduct by sending an offensive photograph to former Wallabies business manager Di Patston and was fined $45,000 but was cleared of sending a more offensive text and photograph.

ARU boss Bill Pulver twice refused to answer the question of whether the governing body wanted Beale's contract torn up.

The Waratahs star is now eligible to join the Wallabies on their Spring tour of the United Kingdom and Europe, provided he receives a call from new coach Michael Cheika.

It is almost certain Cheika, who got the best out of the wayward star for the Waratahs this season, will invite Beale to join the five-game tour.

But rugby fans and administrators alike could be forgiven for thinking it's only a matter of time before Beale finds himself in more strife.

Here's a list of previous off-field incidents and issues involving Beale:

2007 – Banned from driving for nine months and fined $1,500 for drink driving while unlicensed.

June 2010 – Found not guilty of assaulting a 17-year-old female cousin at a family celebration.

July 2010 – Fined $10,000 by the ARU for taking a leak outside a Brisbane nightclub.

November 2010 – Allegedly involved in a punch-up with 'mates' James O'Connor and Quade Cooper in a watering hole in France. All three escaped punishment.

2012 – Accused of a assaulting a bouncer at the Victory Hotel in Brisbane. Charges finally dropped in April, 2013 after a drawn-out mediation process.

March 2013 – Fined $40,000 and suspended indefinitely for punching Melbourne Rebels team-mates Gareth Delve and Cooper Vuna on the team bus after a Super Rugby game in South Africa.

May 2013 – Suspended again for breaching an alcohol ban imposed after he belted his team-mates two months earlier. Checks himself into rehab for personal issues relating to alcohol.

June 2013 – Snapped in 'that photo' with James O'Connor and a Lions fan at 4am in the morning just days before the second Test at a burger joint in Melbourne. Also missed the team bus for a training session before the third Test in Sydney. Not punished for either indiscretion but his team-mates were far from pleased.

June 2014 – Sent an offensive photograph to Di Patston and fined $45,000.
