RWC 2015: Colin Slade crisis averted - we think...

Slade

More: SBW slammed after RWC selection

For many the jury is still out on the injury-prone Crusaders utility’s worth in the team.

There were as many people holding their breaths hoping he wasn’t injured as there were holding out hope that Lima Sopoaga would be drafted into the side.

But it wasn’t to be. The knee injury Slade picked up at training in Wellington isn’t serious.

All Blacks assistant coach Ian Foster confirmed there was nothing to worry about.

“He slipped over and tweaked his knee,” Foster said.

“He was walking around the sheds afterwards. He’s fine.”

For now at least, a repeat of 2011’s first-five cup curse has been prevented.

Four years ago, Dan Carter went down injured at training before Slade and Aaron Cruden both picked up injuries later in the tournament, leaving Stephen Donald to kick the wining penalty against France.

Here's a reminder, in case you forgot.
