Northampton Saints director of rugby Jim Mallinder has played down the severity of George North's latest head injury after he was knocked unconscious in the 52-30 Premiership win over Wasps over Friday.
Major health fears were sparked when North – who suffered two severe blows to the head in Wales' Six Nations defeat to England last month – took a knee to the face as he went over for his second try with 34 minutes played.
The Wales wing was left motionless on his back – Wasps' Nathan Hughes sent off for catching the 22-year-old – but Mallinder has provided a positive update.
"George took a decent knock, but he came round pretty soon after that and he was in the changing room smiling," said Mallinder.
"He's got a bit of a headache. Hopefully he'll be okay."
On the incident, Mallinder added: "It was reckless coming in with the knee."
North took to Twitter on Saturday morning, posting: "Thanks for all the messages. Feeling ok, up and about."
