No Irish approach for Kidney

The denial comes amid reports last week claiming the Exiles' current incumbent Brian Smith will leave at the end of the campaign.

And while director of development Bob Casey remained tight-lipped on Smith's future, he dismissed the reports surrounding Kidney's potential appointment.

He told the Sunday Times: "There is no truth in that. I have a lot of time for Declan and I have worked with him before, but Brian Smith is our coach.

"When somebody's contract is up, there is bound to be speculation. As a club we have nothing to announce.

"We feel that is the best way for London Irish to go about things."

Irish currently sit second-bottom in the Aviva Premiership having collected 12 points from nine games.
