Ipswich winger Marmin Barba is being targeted by the ARU as the perfect signing for their Sevens competition, according to foxsports.com.au.

The 24-year-old, who is the younger brother of Cronulla star Ben, starred for the Jets in the NRL State Championship in 2015 - scoring a 90 metre solo try.

While the rugby interest has perked Barba, the former Bronco admitted his goal was to play in the NRL.

Three NRL clubs are believed to interested in Barba, including NRL minor premiers Sydney Roosters.

"I’ve got a few clubs on the line," Barba told foxsports.com.au.

"I’m in no rush. I’ll wait and see what happens."
