London Welsh picked up their first point of the European Challenge Cup as they ended their campaign with a 17-12 defeat at home to Lyon on Sunday.
The Kassam Stadium outfit have endured a miserable season both domestically and in continental competition, and their tally of consecutive losses now runs to 21 matches.
However, a losing bonus point spares the Premiership strugglers the ignominy of being the only team not to register a point in Europe this term.
Things looked ominous for the hosts early on as tries from Thibaut Regard and Lachie Munro sent Lyon into a 10-0 lead within 12 minutes.
The French side had to wait until the hour mark to get their next points on the board, though, with Damien Fitzpatrick touching down and Munro adding the extras.
Justin Burnell's side mounted a late fightback with Rob Lewis and Koree Britton both going over, but it was not enough to bring an end to their dismal run.
Lyon climb above Bordeaux and end the pool stage on 18 points, but it is not enough to earn a place in the quarter-finals as one of three best-placed runners-up.
Meanwhile, the draw for the semi-finals was conducted on Sunday, with the winner of the last-eight clash between Gloucester and Connacht to meet Exeter Chiefs or Newcastle Falcons, while Newport Gwent Dragons or Cardiff Blues await the victor of Edinburgh's trip to London Irish.
