The 2003 world champions will hope to put the frustrations of 2011 behind them, after reaching the quarter-final stage with ease before being outclassed by France in a 19-12 defeat.

England kick the tournament off against Fiji at Twickenham on September 18.

Lancaster's side will play all but one of their games at Twickenham, regardless of how they progress through the tournament.

And the 44-year-old has called on the passionate home support to inspire his young and exciting side to something memorable next year.

"The fans create an unbelievable energy," he said. "They help the team, they carry the team and the best games at Twickenham have been influenced without a doubt by the fans.

"The players feel it massively. The fans feel they are supporting a team that is young and ambitious, that wants to have a go, and the players respond likewise. It is a virtuous circle.

"To win top games, ultimately you need motivation, to feel why playing for this team is special. The motivation is not a little part of the jigsaw. It's a big, big part of the jigsaw. It is the difference sometimes between winning and losing.

"The feeling inside the changing room is incredibly powerful. Look at the history and heritage that is on the walls. As a player sat here you know it is a unique place to be. It is an unbelievable feeling.

"No stone will be left unturned. The sense of the country behind the team is a very powerful motivator. We will make sure that we are ready to deliver."
