Cheika unveiled as Wallabies coach

The ARU held a press conference for 12.30pm after finalising the details of the deal on Wednesday morning.
 
Cheika will also coach the Waratahs in the 2015 Super Rugby season before focusing his full attention on the Wallabies' World Cup campaign.
 
The 47-year-old has just nine Tests to put his stamp on the national side before their World Cup opener next September.

"I'm so lucky and blessed to be able to have this opportunity," Cheika said.

"I never got to play for the Wallabies so to have the opportunity to coach them is touching to me, and inspires me to do my best.

"We have to unite together to do the very best for our supporters.

"Rugby supporters want to be proud of their team all the time."

The Wallabies fly out for their annual Spring tour on Friday.
 
They play the Barbarians at Twickenham on November 1 as well as Tests against Wales, France, Ireland and England.
 
Cheika, the only coach to win a European Cup title and Super Rugby crown, takes over from Ewen McKenzie who fell on his sword following Saturday night's 29-28 loss to the All Blacks in Brisbane.
 
The former Randwick and NSW number eight has a reputation for be able to turn teams from basket case to winners./
 
But the fiery coach faces his biggest challenge after taking over a Wallabies team in crisis just 11 months out from a World Cup.
