The Crusaders trounced the Stormers 29-10 in Cape Town to seal their passage to the 2011 Super Rugby final, where they will face the Queensland Reds.
Dan Carter kicked five penalties and converted tries from Robbie Fruean and Sean Maitland as the Crusaders got the better of the Stormers for the second time this season.
The Stormers had struck first with a Peter Grant penalty five minutes in, but moments after Carter had kicked the Crusaders level in the 13th minute, Maitland made a decisive interception and raced away for an easy try.
They were 13-3 up moments later thanks to another Carter penalty even as they allowed the Stormers to dominate possession.
A long Carter penalty from the halfway line in the 24th minute only emphasised their superiority and it was evident the Stormers were not going to put up a proper challenge before the half-hour mark when Gio Aplon kicked a penalty for touch when the posts appeared in range.
Carter struck the posts with another penalty in the 32nd minute, but moments later, Sonny Bill Williams fed Fruean for the second try, silencing the Newlands crowd who surely knew it was already over.
Their side had not entirely given up though, and two minute before the break, Bryan Habana dived over for their only try, converted by Grant.
That cut the gap to 23-10 but there was never much chance of a fightback, with Carter nailing the first penalty of the second half only two minutes after the restart once replacement Schalk Brits had quickly made his mark by conceding the kick.
The Stormers showed flashes, with Jaque Fourie tackled at the tryline by Zac Guildford who managed to push him into touch, but they could not make it count.
Carter missed one penalty but scored another in the 64th minute for what proved to be the final points.
