Brothers stay with Reds

Things continue to get better for the Queensland Reds with in-form twin brothers Anthony and Saia Faingaa committing their futures to the club on Wednesday.
On the back of their best start to a season in 11 years, the Reds have now re-signed the gifted 23-year-olds until the end of the 2012 season.
The pair have played key roles in the club's strong early season form, with Anthony putting in consistently strong performances at inside centre after getting an opportunity this year with the departure of Berrick Barnes.
Saia claimed the starting hooker position in Round 2 when the experienced Sean Hardman picked up an injury and has held onto it ever since.
Reds coach Ewen McKenzie said the brothers had made the most of their opportunities by working hard during the off-season and then performing well when given the chance on the field.
"We want to reward performance and both Anthony and Saia are giving us what we want," McKenzie said.
"As a result we were keen for them to be part of our future plans. By re-signing through to 2012 they obviously recognise what we have going here and want to be part of it."
Saia Faingaa said with the team doing so well, staying in Queensland was not a hard decision.
"Being part of building a new team and a new culture is exciting for us and we want to continue with it," he said.
"We also jumped at the opportunity to be able to stay together."
"It’s a great honour to be able to start in a Super 14 match and for us to be in the starting team together makes it even better."
The Reds have a bye this weekend but fly out for South Africa on Friday for a tricky three-match away leg that could determine whether they qualify for the finals for the first time in eight years.
