"But when I moved overseas I put All Blacks to the side and thought 'I'll give it a rest for a few years'. Now, who knows what will happen?"
In '07 Braid had shoulder surgery and was out for four-and-a-half months. Then, in '09 he had the Achilles injury and was out for six months.
"Now my body is right and I had a really good pre-season and I'm as fit and as strong as I was in 2007," Braid said.
Signs are good the Reds can continue its shock run against the unimpressive Force in Brisbane on Sunday.
And with Robbie Dean's advice sparking Quad Cooper's revival all signs point to Braid's breakdown blitz continuing as well.
