Video: 'Selfie' fan gets hit at Tour de France

TDF fans

Fans watching the Tour de France's opening legs in Britain were injured in accidents involving buildings. Now, we are seeing incidents of spectators stepping into cyclists' way for their personal gratification. As in, snaps with cellphones. The image below is one such instance.

FoxSports.com details the trial and tribulations in the world's premier cycling event. Perhaps its only a matter of time before similar selfish acts play out in North American sports.

Yeah, we have streakers and baffoons who run onto playing fields. Fools faces in foolish places are nothing new.

So what happens when CellPhone Charley decides to run down to the sideline for a selfie?

It could be much worse than being clipped by a bike racer.

As for the Tour, maybe it's time to fence off the course. The long arms of the gendarmes can reach only so far. Please keep this stuff on your side of the pond, France.
