Video: McGregor KOs Mendes from nowhere

Conor McGregor

Mendes, a superior wrestler, dominated the opening minutes, drawing blood over the Irishman's right eye and keeping McGregor on his back.

The second round was more of the same, with Mendes dominating and McGregor looking tired.

McGregor regained his feet when Mendes attempted a guillotine towards the end of the second round.

The effort of wrestling was showing on Mendes' face and McGregor let fly with an uppercut and a kick to the stomach.

A huge right-left combo dropped the American and McGregor pounced. It was only a matter of time before referee Herb Dean stopped the fight.

Watch the end of the fight here.

McGregor walks away as the interim featherweight champion and will eagerly await a fight with veteran Jose Aldo.
