Does Usain Bolt respect Justin Gatlin?

Bolt vs. Gatlin has been the main story line throughout the World Championships in Beijing, with the Jamaican Bolt beating the American Gatlin, who has twice been banned for doping offenses, for gold in the 100-meter final. The pair will meet again in the 200-meter final after both cruised through their semifinals Wednesday.

"If Usain Bolt is OK with Justin Gatlin and can high-five him before the race and hug him before the race," Nehemiah, the former world record holder in the 110-meter hurdles, told Omnisport. "He's the one who is being affected by this the most — not you, not me. We don't do anything but watch this. This guy's legacy is at stake, so if he's OK with it and can respect Justin Gatlin, that's good enough for me. That's what it's about.

"Considering it was a major event the other night and a lot of things have been said and cast upon him that wasn't always favorable, he has responded very well. If I have a concern, it's if he has enough emotional fortitude left for the next final, because (losing in the 100) took a lot out of him emotionally as well as physically."

"I think he's faring well, he looks impressive," Nehemiah continued. "Obviously there is going to be a repeat epic battle and he's not going to back down and Usain isn't going to back down and I think it's the one everyone is clamoring to see, Bolt-Gatlin II. So hopefully they're both in the best form under the circumstances. (Gatlin) is my guy no matter what, he has already impressed me beyond what I could consider anyone would be able to endure."
